Stella & Dot

neclace.jpeg Spring is in the air! I don’t know about you, but I have been anxiously waiting to put away my heavy sweaters and take out my spring clothes! At the start of each new season I like to vamp up my wardrobe, and a cost effective, good way to do that is with some fun new accessories. Lucky for me a friend of mine just hosted a Stella & Dot party, where I bought a beautiful bracelet and necklace from a Stella & Dot Stylist. Four days later I received a package in the mail containing the most adorable boxes with my lovely new jewelry inside! If you have not heard of Stella & Dot, let me tell you a little bit about it.
Stella & Dot is a social selling company that creates flexible entrepreneurial opportunities for women. Their boutique-style jewelry and accessories line is available exclusively through in-home Trunk Shows by Independent Stylists and on their website. The jewelry is designed by celebrated New York designers and featured in Gossip Girl, In Style and Lucky Magazine. You wouldn’t believe how many celebs are wearing it! The founder and CEO, Jessica Herrin, is a mother of two who wanted to create a new kind of company that would give today’s busy women a career alternative. Jessica did not believe the model for at-home businesses were working and wanted to try something new and unique, where you didn’t end up with a closet full of unwanted goods. The company has really taken off. It was named one of the 500 fastest growing private companies by Inc. magazine.
The stylist at my friend’s party, Ilyssa, is working in marketing about four days a week and started her Stella & Dot business on the side because she loved the jewelry and thought it would be fun. She now does a Trunk Show a couple times a week and soon she will be able to leave her day job, manage her business full time and spend more time with her two kids. The party that I went to last week was really nice. Shopping for fun jewelry and chatting with friends was a welcome departure from my nightly routine. I am also considering hosting my own Stella & Dot party. The hostess receives a percentage in jewelry of what the stylist makes from the party (free jewelry!). Prices range from $30 to $300 and they have so many choices of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, charms and rings. They even have the sweetest line of girls jewelry that would make the best present for any princess.
Take a look at the Stella & Dot website and if you have any questions about the business feel free to contact Ilyssa at ibg14@aol.com. If you are interested in hosting a party and live in the tri-state region, Ilyssa can be your stylist. If you live elsewhere, she can refer you to a Stylist in your area. Happy shopping!
