Since I usually prepare one meal per week, I figured our fave five for Monday would focus on my favorite foodie blogs. But first, I’m going to give you my friend Robin and Ellen’s recipe for crunchy broccoli. Would love to figure out how to do crunchy spinach, but for now China Grill in NYC has the lock on that secret recipe.
1. Robin & Ellen’s Crunchy Broccoli – Want your kids to think their broccoli tastes like potato chips? Here’s the simple recipe. Cut up the broccoli stalks. Sprinkle pepper and salt on the stalks, then add olive oil. Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit in an aluminum pan and bake for 35 minutes. Voila, you’ve got crunchy broccoli and it tastes sooooo good!
2. Eat, Drink. Memory is a great food and recipe blog by travel and food writer Mary Macrae Warren. The site features everything from recipes, to videos, to stories of the writer’s love of food, wine and travel.
3. Allergy Moms Food and Recipe Blog For parents of children with allergies, this is a resourceful site that offers unique recipes that’ll put a smile on their face and please their tummies too!
4. Gourmet Mom on the Go This blog has fabulous recipes for every occasion and kids will totally love the mouth watering cakes, cookies and more from this talented culinary mom who seems to whip up amazing dishes on a daily basis.
5. Holiday Recipes for Passover and Easter If you’re looking to mix up the matzoh ball action this year, then visit Nosh With Me for some fun recipes. And if you’re celebrating Easter, then check out The Recipe Mom – she has some great food options for families getting ready to decorate those Easter eggs. Personally, I was thisclose to buying one of those Cadbury creme eggs today…but thankfully, didn’t give in to temptation…yet.
