See Mom Run: Getting Our Groove On
Check out our most recent event in Larchmont, NY at Groove, an adorable children's music and art studio which was transformed for one special night into a cozy reading space for our incredible contributors, Danielle Dardashti, Jeanne Muchnick and Liz Gumbinner. The evening was filled with all the fixings for a successful event - crudite, shrimp, chocolate, wine (thanks Liz for that last minute motion for red and white) and great entertainment (including a song by yours truly)!
We'd like to thank Costco for the yummy shrimp, beverages and crudite platter and 7 Eleven for providing us with a Routan-load of delicious snacks that we'll be taking with us on our next tour stops! Plus, Leah at Drinking Diaries got to take home a gift basket filled with 7 Eleven Treats since she won the award of the night for "Messiest Purse." Check out our photo montage and we'll be sharing videos soon!
See Mom Run NYC Launch Event
I can't believe our big night finally arrived, but last night, we celebrated the official launch of See Mom Run at a spectacular Manhattan dream apartment - 515 East 72nd Street/Miraval Living. While the evening went by in a flash, it was so much fun to introduce the book to our guests and we hope, after they read through the essays, they will be passing on the word that See Mom Run is the perfect give to buy any busy mom this holiday season! We'll have video from the event too, but for now, check out our Whrrl photo montage! Next stop on the tour...Larchmont on November 10. Visit SeeMomRunBook for details.
See Mom Run: Boston
We just kicked off the official See Mom Run book tour and our first stop began in one of my favorite cities...Boston! First, I got the chance to reunite with my dear friend and fellow UMASS alum, Michelle Roberts who is now a mom of two and founder of EcoHealth Designs. Michelle is a total spitfire and introduced me to the team at the Women's Council of Realtors where I gave a keynote speech about social media and my passion for real estate and renovation!
We then headed to our hotel in Copley Square (we stayed at the Marriott) and had about 20 minutes to get ready for our night on the town with the fabulous women at Gal Time. Once we did a wardrobe change (thank you Kathlin Argiro), we hit the streets and raced over to the Katrina Hess Studio where make-up and brow sensation Katrina transformed my face in a matter of minutes.
We also shared wine, champagne and appetizers with some powerful Boston mom-trepreneurs - including Linda Waters at Back to Business who shared her latest creation with us - Confidence Beads! Will be sharing video soon so you can find out why her bracelets and charms are going to be the hottest items for women this holiday season.
We then caught up with Mommy Niri - who
we had the chance to meet in NYC and was so thrilled to get to know her. What an amazing woman and an incredible storyteller. Despite everything she has experienced in her life (and the story of her life will have you riveted), she is one of the most positive women I've ever met. Spend a few hours with Niri and you will instantly have a smile plastered on your face the rest of the night!
We were also excited to meet Jennifer at Savor The Thyme, who also happens to be a pretty amazing photographer. Jenn took the train up from Westerly, RI and was our official Whrrl gal for the night - taking photos and then uploading them to her computer when we hit a fabulous Boston restaurant, Sonsie! Incidentally, that's a shot of Jenn taking a picture of her gorgeous brows!
Once we arrived, the place was packed - and it was Tuesday night! Charlene Bert-Santos and Susan Krivelow, who founded GALTime, a brand new online lifestyle magazine for women, planned our Boston event and I am indebted to them for welcoming us into their town with open arms! (Susan is pictured above with Bonny at Role Mommy).
Once we arrived at the restaurant, we got the chance to meet Emmy award-winning investigative TV reporter and Examiner.com contributor Mary Schwager. That's me with Mary and the fabulous Charlene!!!
After ordering drinks, appetiziers and our entrees, the evening literally flew by. We had so much fun getting to know all these incredible women and can't wait to come back again so we can spend more time with GalTime and shoot some fun videos for their site! In the meantime, check out our photo montage from our day and night and Boston...videos coming soon!
The tour continues with our Larchmont NY event at Groove on Tuesday, November 10...so check back as we continue to share the details of our whirlwind See Mom Run Book Tour presented by Swiffer WetJet!
