Giveaway Central: The Jawbone ICON

Thumbnail image for thethinker.jpgYes, we have a winner!!! Still waiting to hear back from her but Kristiana, whose fiance is currently deployed overseas is the winner of the Jawbone Icon. Thanks to everyone for participating and if you are interested in participating in more giveaways, we're currently hosting an Oprah's Favorite Things and a New Balance Sneaker giveaway too. Comment now for your chance to win!

As we get closer to Valentine's Day, I'm sure there are men and women out there who are frantically trying to figure out what to get their significant other. Sure, you can invest in a nice piece of jewelry or a box of calorie laden chocolates, but what if you gave your loved one something they could use every day, that'll keep them safe while driving and make them look pretty cool too? Wondering what it is? Well, let me tell you. It's the Jawbone ICON. If you've never heard of Jawbone before, if you own a cell phone then keep reading.

Jawbone is a hands free headset that comes in a variety of styles and colors with different size earplug holders to fit any size ear and a convenient on and off switch that won't drain the battery when you're not using it.

Thumbnail image for imagery_ace (1).jpgI recently received the brand new Jawbone ICON to review and this morning, after charging it up for an hour (a 40 minute charge works to), I flipped the switch, synced it to my blackberry and called my mom.

"Hello, Mom, it's Beth, can you hear me?"
"Hear you? You're coming in clear as a bell!"
"Really, because I'm trying out the new Jawbone ICON so I figured I'd test it out on you first."
"Well, you can tell those people at Jawbone that I can hear you perfectly down here in Boynton Beach."

Gotta love my mom - a ringing endorsement (no pun intended) that comes by way of Florida. Here's the deal - to truly figure out if your headset is working properly, you really need to ask if the people on the other end can hear you clearly - so part one of my testing worked.

While sitting at my laptop typing away, my cell rang and suddenly I mysterious voice whispered into my ear the phone number of the person who was calling me. Yup - the Jawbone ICON also features an incredible function that enables you to get voice activated caller ID. I answered the phone so easily - you can either press a button on the Jawbone or press answer on your own phone and off I was chatting away with a friend.

Best of all, as I walked around the house and outside to Cosi where I grabbed lunch, the Jawbone stayed in place and felt incredibly comfortable too. So all in all, while it's only day one with the Jawbone ICON, I am totally sold on the latest version. Plus, when I visited the website, I even signed myself up to participate in a beta program where I'm going to get to potentially post my status to Facebook and Twitter with my voice via my Jawbone headset. How cool is that - hands free posting - what a concept!

But enough about me. It is Giveaway Friday and all. If you comment on this post along with your email address and/or Twitter handle, sharing why you deserve this ultimate Valentine's gift, we'll let you know next Friday if you could be walking around town like me sporting your very own Jawbone ICON (a $99 value).

Beth: Did it stay in your ear? These things always fall out of my ears.

BTW, if we are selected as the Giveaway Friday winner, we we will donate this product to our silent auction at our upcoming Mother's Day brunch fundraiser.

I would LOVE to win this! After watching the Oprah show on taking the pledge not to text or talk on a handset while driving, this would totally help me keep my promise not to text/talk while driving.

Thank you for the opportunity.

I have taken to calling my sweetie every day when I go home from work and telling her something I like about her. Granted, it can be difficult to think up something new after years have gone by, but somehow I've managed.

When I'm driving back however, I have always had to use my cell phone and place it in my lap. That can be distracting as when I make turns and change lanes, it shifts around.

It'd be nice to have something like this so I can get myself home and still my sweetie how much I love her.

There is never ANYTHING to get for my husband. This just may be it! thanks for the chance to win.

I would like to win this because I am looking forward to getting a cell phone this year.
Texting and talking while driving is my motto!

These are great and could use a hands-free unit

I should win this because it looks like a FABULOUS earring and I love being fashionable! LOL! (Yes...we shall gloss over the fact that I'd only have ONE seemingly fashionable earring in mind ya...)

I deserve this because I don't have a wireless headset, I've still got the cheap wire one that came with my phone.
Thanks!

I don't have one and would like this.

WOW I've never seen one like this before! Nice! I'd gift myself, my fiance can't send me a gift this v-day, he's deployed!

I deserve to win since I usually don't get a Valentine's day present.

I don't have a Valentine so this would be my Valentine's Day present to myself!

I'd love to win this! My younger brother's birthday is coming up and this would make a nice gift. He's also teases me about entering these contests now and again and I'd love to tell him that his gift was won from such a contest. haha :D

My birthday is coming up... single, no kids.. I would be tickled to have one gift this year!

Hubby drive a big truck and I dont get to see him much. So calling and at least getting to talk to him lets me know he is still safe and not in a wreck somewhere. At our house we only get cell signal in one place so I have to set my cell phone there and talk through a headset or have to stand at the window I have to keep it inm and talk which makes it hard to get things done through the day standing and talking to the cell phone on the window sill on speakerphone does look silly when they neighbors see me do it LOL. I have an old motorola headset I use but it dont stay charged long its about to take a dump. So winning this would be a blessing for me.
Thank you for the great giveaway.

A new law came into effect on Jan 1st regarding driving and using hand held devices. As of yet, I've to purchase something and have been letting my phone ring to voice mail!

This would solve that problem and beautifully I may add!

Thanks

(in Canada)

It's so hard to hear on my wife's cellphone - from all the reviews I seen of Jawbone products, this would be a great help.

This would be perfect for my teen. It would make it safer for him.

wow... I really need something that will actually stay in my ear... Seems that everything I've tried so far tends to slip or just not really work... this sounds great win[at]tawnda[dot]com

I would like to win this because I have the ears for it!

My state just passed a law that you need to be hands free while driving. This would save me some coin and I was looking at the Jawbone anyway because everyone says they work so well.

My sister would love this to replace holding her cell phone to her ear all evening. Please accept my entry. Thank you.

I wanted to get the jawbone for my add for his birthday. But due to money restrains, I was unable.
So, if I won-this would be a belated gift for him! :)

this would be great for hands free--our state just adopted the no cells use--we have to have hands free sets, thanks for the opp!!! could reallllly use it

Beats the heck out of the cheap Jabra my house currently uses

I'd just like to share this with my Honey. I'd gladly give it up to get some safer iPhone usage going on!

I don't DESERVE it, but I sure do want it.

I currently use an earpiece that hooks over my ear. Because I wear glasses it irritates my ear. This would be so nice. Thank you so much for hosting this giveaway.

I believe I deserve this so I can impress all the ladies.

I would love to with the jawbone because as the mother of a young child I almost always have my hands full. I would love to be enabled to carry a conversation AND my child at the same time.

I hope to win :-) Thanks for the opportunity.

Can you believe I've never owned any sort of Bluetooth enabled hands free headset? I've been using wired headsets. I know, I'm behind the times.

I'm on a lot of conference calls (and training calls for my team) and this would be so handy. Might as well look styling while I work right?

I'm @thienkim

I deserve this ultimate Valentine's gift because I's my birthday and I could really use it. :)

It's awesome!

:) Thank you for the wonderful giveaway! :)

just some good oldfashioned roses :0)

This would be a great Wedding Anniversary gift for myself. We our broke and can't celebrate our 1st anniversary

I deserve a Jawbone ICON because I am a busy mom also who needs to take the crick out of my neck.lol

wendym at cableone dot net

new hands free law here now so going to need something like this

I would love to have this because I don't feel safe talking on my phone while I am driving. I think giving a bluetooth headpiece would be a great idea to show the one you love that you care about their safety.

Well, I deserve a bluetooth headset because I just graced the world with the most beautiful baby ever. Seriously, he's simply the most gorgeous human to ever exist. I should get something for that, right?

Actually, I DON'T deserve this but my father was just diagnosed with cancer and can't hold on to things very well. He lives several states away from me and I call often to see how he and my mom are doing.

I definitely need to win this because I have the horrible habit of talking to people while driving, and this would make me (*and my parents*) feel much safer while I am driving and talking! It is also such a hassle to walk around campus with five books, a netbook AND a phone in my hand! This would definitely be put to GREAT use!

I would love to have this as I haven't ever owned a bluetooth and this would prob help me focus on the road more. Thanks! thebubbledies(at)gmail(dot)com

I deserve to win this because I had surgery on my foot and was down for two months. I am now able to do things like drive but it hurts. If I had this, I think it would probably take the pain away! or at least make it more fun to drive. Plus it's cool looking.

I live in a state where cell phones are not allowed to be used unless they are hands free. I do not own a hands free device. This is the reason I need this package.

I deserve this because I had a second-hand headset that broke, so this would be awesome!

nesta 67 {at} live dot com

i'd like to win one because its illegal in my state to drive and talk on the phone, so i'm constantly pulling over to answer a call

This would be a wonderful thing to have. I probably give this to my son who drives for a living from company to company fixing their computers.

After watching Oprah about how dangerous using a phone while driving is,I took the pledge. I caught my adult daughter tweeting and texting while driving down the interstate.I would love to give this to her so she wont have that phone in her hands. A love gift for my baby girl who at 28 thinks she is to old for mamma to tell her what to do. :(

California has a hands-free law and boy am i a talker. i want to be safe but i am broke and can not afford a headset right now. it would save my friends from getting mad at me for not answering my phone during my 2hr each way commute. 4 hrs of driving to and from work. It gets lonely in the parking lot known as the 10fwy in LA!

ferriza2(at)yahoo(dot)com

Hubby deserves "The Hero" because he is our hero and it would be such a relief to know he was driving more safely (hopefully) while out and about.

My lady is so busy during the day and her phone is constantly ringing, this would be of great assistance to her!

I travel a lot on my job. Having a wireless headset would be great. It would be saferfor driving.

i would love this for my teenage daughter she is a great kid and works hard at school, sports and an after school job :)

klp1965@myfairpoint.net

I'd love this because I saw this commercial about distracted drivers and cried. Need it!

I deserve this ultimate Valentine's gift because my fiance started a new job telecommuting from home and this would be perfect for him.

I'm not more deserving than anyone else but I would absolutely love to have one of these. I refuse to drive and talk on the phone because it is not safe so I often pull over. The safety of my three boys is way more important. This would be fantastic for me and I would now be able to talk on the phone when I need to and get to where I need to go instead of wasting time. Thanks for the chance.

I would love this! We go to California to visit my family a lot, and I have forgotten about the "no phone" law a few times. Luckily I have never gotten caught, and quickly remembered and hung up, but this would make it a lot easier!

I would love to be able to talk hands free. I try not to talk while driving but have 2 road trips planned this summer, this would be great!

my husband deserves it since he calls me daily and this would be something he could really use

I'm always on the road because of my job so this would help me keep safe on the road. Thanks for the chance!
