The Parentville Fave Five
Unique Fall Gifts
Parentville.com is the new give-and-get parent recommendation site where you can quickly find (and recommend) information on products, services, activities and caregivers. If you register on Parentville.com through Sept. 28 and make one recommendation, you'll be entered to win a Madeline Doll (more details below)!
With the first Fall babies arriving and others celebrating a birthday, Parentville's been collecting a lot of good ideas for gifts, and here are five that recipients will be sure to think are thoughtful:
This maple block from Craft-E-Family is customizable with the baby's name, city, date, weight, length, parents' names and optional siblings' and hospital names. Prices range from $15-$23 (not including USPS shipping - but no tax unless you live in IN). A great dresser piece, and baby likes to hold it, too!
The famous Parisian redhead doll is celebrating her 70th birthday, and little girls are ever fascinated with her stories from Ludwig Bemelman. This is a cute new collector's doll shared with us by Kids Preferred that can also go along with any number of items, such as a book, tea set or jewelry box. By registering with Parentville and recommending an item, you can win her!
This book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, a clever parenting and children's book author, is a great baby or first birthday gift. It has pages, "time capsule" pockets for keepsakes and places for photos from 1 to 18. It captures baby's life, thoughts and emotions for each year, and has pages for "exclusive interviews". A great place to capture memories and cherished moments you and your child can look at for years to come.
This is a wonderful store shared with me by a mom who's specialty is one-of-a-kind gifts. Not only do they have invitations, note cards and favors, but they also feature personalized aprons, crayon keepers, holiday bags, backpacks, growth charts and ceramic dishes among other items.
This company was started by the son of the founder of the illustrator for Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny. They have wonderful products made from all types of paper, including puzzles, activities and stickers/scenery (select the Jumbo stickers for under 3 years) in carry totes, plus pop-up blocks, castles and doll houses, and note cards for teachers.
Many of their products are found on Amazon or Hallmark, Barnes & Noble Stores, along with museum gift shops and kids' boutiques. Also check out the Peaceable Kingdom Press web site at http://www.pkpress.com for more products.
