The Parentville Fave Five - Best from the Biggest Baby Shower

Parentville.com

Parentville.com got the chance to attend the Big City Moms Biggest Baby Shower last week in New York City and wanted to bring you our favorite products from this well-organized event. You won't want to miss next year's if you are a new mom or need a "refresher" course; this was a high-class event with vendors from major baby products and retailers to entrepreneurs.

And of course, Parentville.com can also help you find answers to your most pressing (and curious) parenting questions!

Don't forget, we are giving away a year's subscription to Relish! online meal planning service and a $50 Crate & Barrel Gift Card.

iCandy Stroller

iCandy Pear

This UK brand is fairly new to the U.S., and the product is phenomenal. It can fit a car seat (or two!), has roomy seats that turn forward or rear-facing, has great storage space, adjustable handlebar, solid tires, and cute names for each style like apple and pear (cup holder, diaper bag and umbrella are separate purchases). Plus, you can turn a single stroller into a double with an adapter kit and you can purchase a depth-adjustable bassinet kit separately that attaches to the same seat.

The double stroller is roughly the same price as the single ($500+ plus adapter kit $400+). You can find a location near you on their site.

Episencial-Epicuren Baby Skincare Line

This is a new line of products launched by a mother with a history in anti-aging skin care products and a new focus on a "green", baby-safe line. She has a new license with Eric Carle of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" book (and many others), the perfect platform to launch a natural baby skin care line.

Body Butter

The products are scented only by the extract of pure fruit juice and made from all natural, many organic ingredients. They also come in packaging made from recyclable materials that is BPA and phthalate-free, and they are manufactured under solar power.

Products include foaming wash, bubble bath, soothing cream, body butter, face balm, and sunscreen. Find out more about natural baby skin care at episencial.com.

American Terry Co.

This is an adorable alternative to a layette for a new baby ($58). Includes organic hooded towel (they also carry these for ages 2-10 in all sorts of colors), large burp cloth, wash cloth and booties in a decorative box, and it can be personalized!

Organic New Baby Box

This company also offers modern stroller covers and cute bath/pool gift buckets/cases, which can be personalized.

MAM Baby

MAM is a company out of Europe that was formerly under the Sassy name. They are introducing their branded products early next year, so be on the lookout! They have put some great innovation into their BPA-free products, a few of which include the anti-colic bottle. This minimizes the amount of air coming in and features just one flexible ring in unscrewable bottom (rather than all the parts in the inside of similar bottles).

The Cooler teether has a rubber ring to hold so baby's hands stay warm, and the frozen part is big enough to reach molars coming in. The Bite & Brush teether has small flexible bristles that clean while baby bites on it! MAM also has great pacifiers of all sizes and designs and a carry clip and holder.

Phil & Ted's Traveller

This travel bed is roomy enough to fit a child up to age 3 and compact enough to take on holiday trips while still having room for your luggage. It weighs only 5.5 lbs. (includes a carry case totaling 8 lbs.) because the mattress (includes a thermal layer to protect against cold floors) is inflatable and the frame is aluminum.

Phil & Ted's Traveller

The waterproof Traveller has a mesh top and sides with zipper access, and an optional 80 SPF UV protection cover can be purchased for use at the beach. The mattress comes inside a sleeve, so if you want to us your own sheet, make sure it is secure to the bottom. Given its weight, you should watch toddlers who may try to push this over before going to sleep.
