Parenthood: My New Favorite TV Show

parenthood-Lauren-Graham.jpgIf you've read Role Mommy for a while then you probably know that I'm a sap. I can't get enough of a TV series or movie that makes me laugh and cry and I'm here to report, I've just found my next favorite guilty pleasure...Parenthood.

While I didn't get to catch the premiere of the series, I hopped on over to Hulu and just caught it on my laptop and all I can say is Wow. Wow for featuring a show about a family that is so real and so dysfunctional but facing so many of the same issues that we all face as parents. The cast is stellar - from Lauren Graham to Peter Krause, Monica Potter, Craig T. Nelson, Dax Shepard, Bonnie Bedelia, Monica Potter, Erika Christensen and Mae Whitman.

From the single mom (Lauren Graham) with two troubled teens who has to move back home with her parents to make ends meet; to the son (Peter Krause) who everyone relies on to fix everything, who finds his eight year old boy may be suffering from a condition he cannot fix; to the workaholic sister (Erika Christensen) whose five year old daughter prefers her stay at home dad to her; to the commitment phobic brother who finds out he may be the father of a five year old boy, I have finally found a new show to add to my must-see TV list - thank you NBC for giving Jay Leno the boot to late night. You finally have a winner on your hands on Tuesdays at 10 pm!

Serving as executive producers are Oscar winners Ron Howard and Brian Grazer ("A Beautiful Mind," "Frost/Nixon"), Jason Katims ("Friday Night Lights") - who wrote the pilot episode -- and David Nevins ("Friday Night Lights," "Arrested Development"). Emmy Award winner Thomas Schlamme ("The West Wing") is the director and executive producer of the pilot.

So if you're keeping score, that means Parenthood will be joining my must see line-up of Brothers and Sisters, American Idol, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and anything on Disney Channel or Nickelodeon.

Want to check out Parenthood for yourself? Well sit back, click on the video below and trust me, you'll thank me for the TV tip!

I love Parenthood because it depicts everyday struggles that many families face and the theme of family sticking together prevails. I was hooked by the middle of the first season and I hadn't realized that the second season was already in action. I've been catching up on season 2 while testing DISHonline.com for my employer, DISH Network. I'm happy because the content was free and I was able to set my DVR via the website so I won't miss the rest of season 2. I think this show is great in promoting family and is far better written than a lot of the scandalous TV shows out there.

If you needs to find out role model in your carrier then I would suggest you parenthood. Parenthood is a show about young teen life and their relationship. At some point this show is as same as Secret life of american teenager.
