About Role Mommy
By day, they're the dynamic duo of broadcast bookings. By night--after the kids are in bed and the dishwasher loaded--they're the co-creators of "Role Mommy."
Our story begins in 1998 when Yvette Corporon and Beth Feldman were making their mark on the television industry. Yvette, as an adrenaline addicted Emmy Award-winning news producer for New York's WCBS-TV, and Beth, as an entertainment publicist for the CBS Television Network. Married, but without kids, the two first became fast friends while coordinating appearances by some of the brightest stars in the CBS line-up, as well as some of the dullest wanna-be A-listers who never did make it past D-list status. Yvette and Beth were each other's go-to gals, always coming through in a pinch when one needed to score a "get" in order to score some much needed points with her boss.
Fast forward to 2004. Yvette, who has had two children and taken a hiatus from full-time work, has re-joined the workforce as a producer for the television show "Extra." She's traded in the seductive siren call of the newsroom for sit down celebrity interviews and given up all night undercover investigative work in order to slip under the covers and cuddle with her kids at bedtime. Beth, who has since had two children and never left the workforce, has clawed her way up the corporate ladder and has graduated from promoting one season series like "Welcome to New York" and "Dellaventura" to handling hits like "Everybody Loves Raymond," "The Amazing Race," and "CSI."
Together, Yvette and Beth reconnected and never missed a beat. With camera crews trailing behind, they have traipsed across the streets of New York with just about every television star you can imagine and some of which they'd rather forget. While coordinating red carpet events, elaborate junkets and exclusive back stage set visits, the two women forged a professional and personal bond as they swapped stories about their chaotic careers, expanding families and ever fading free time. It was only a matter of time that the frenzied friends would meet over a chicken salad with dressing on the side lunch, when they discovered they were each other's Role Mommies. An idea was hatched and a book was born. Individually they've balanced bookings, bottles, conference calls and croup--and together, they embarked on a new journey. Without the aid of modern science or even leaving their husbands, these two women gave birth to Peeing in Peace and the Role Mommy brand.
Since it's inception in 2005, the Role Mommy movement has spread like wildfire.
Role Mommy joined forces with the Children's Museum of Manhattan and the Westchester County Parks Department and launched a highly successful lecture series featuring successful women who have reinvented their lives while raising a family. The popular panel discussions have featured celebrated and celebrity working mothers such as Kassie DePaiva (One Life to Live), Barbara Corcoran (Real Estate Goddess), Rene Syler (The Early Show), Martha Byrne (As The World Turns), Pilar Guzman (Editor-in-chief of Cookie Magazine), Lisa Caputo (President of Women and Company for Citigroup and former press secretary to Hillary Clinton during the Clinton White House years), Lee Woodruff (best-selling author, In An Instant) and Cindy Hsu (Television news reporter with WCBS-TV in New York).
Yvette and Beth Yvette have also moved out from behind the cameras and into the hair and makeup chair and have appeared as parenting contributors on the CW11 Morning News in New York, and have also been featured on Fox News Channels' Fox & Friends, iVillage Live, WCBS-TV, and Fox 5 NY as well as radio stations nationwide sharing their stories, sagas and sometimes silliness of their lives as working mothers. Beth is also a regular contributor to New York Metroparents, Hybrid Mom, Time Out New York Kids, Westchester Family and the Huffington Post, among others. While Yvette continues her ascent up the entertainment ladder and is now a Senior Producer at "Extra," Beth has pole vaulted off her perch at CBS to embark on a brand new venture - launching BeyondPR - an entertainment public relations and talent consulting firm representing television projects, innovative websites and best-selling authors. She also continues to be the driving force behind Role Mommy where she produces events for parents, while writing and managing all of the content for the popular Role Mommy website. Rolemommy.com has become an online coffee klatch where busy moms can log in and get a quick fix of camaraderie and a laugh before getting on with their busy lives. The mission of Role Mommy is simple: to inspire and entertain.
