I don’t know about you, but there’s something about this time of year that stresses me out. Sure we still have one more month left until the summer is over, but that doesn’t stop all those Back to School reminders that seem to be flooding my email inbox. As I contemplated standing on long lines and paying top dollar for notebooks, paper, pens, calculators and more, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Walmart has launched Savings Catcher – a new way for you to save money while you shop!
Through Savings Catcher, Walmart compares your receipt to advertised prices from top stores in your area, and if it finds a lower advertised price, you get the difference on an eGift Card. All you have to do is enter your receipt and Walmart does the work for you. No more shopping around town and no need to ad match.
Here’s how it works:
Submit your receipt to Savings Catcher in any one of two ways:
Enter the receipt number (the TC number) into Savings Catcher at Walmart.com/savingscatcher. You’ll find this number located near the bottom of your printed Walmart store receipt.
Or, scan the code at the bottom of your printed store receipt, using the scanner in the Savings Catcher section of the Walmart app.
Savings Catcher compares the prices of the eligible items you bought at Walmart to the advertised prices found in the print and online versions of the weekly ads of top retailers in your area. The ads must be valid at the time you made your Walmart purchase.
If Savings Catcher finds an advertised price that is lower than what you paid for the same exact item at Walmart, you’ll get back the difference on a Walmart Rewards eGift Card.
As soon as my daughter comes back from sleepaway camp this Saturday, we’ll be grabbing her back to school list and hitting Walmart so I can give Savings Catcher a try. In the meantime, check out the Walmart Savings Catcher website so you can sign up to and start saving right now!
